    Enjoyed this very nice business hotel: outstanding food and super-friendly and outstandingly accommodating staff. I ate at a good restaurant for dinner. I had very comfy bed, an electric kettle, a mini-fridge-bar and climate control.

    Didn't like the area, it was extremely busy.

    Perhaps the nicest hotel that I have ever stayed in. Very luxurious!The location is not very romantic but it is very close to the train station and shopping.

    Liked everything about hotel ,comfortable, luxurious, friendly helpful staff. Only downside was finding it by car and the fact its a little way out of center. Lille tourism could provide better directions. It is part of the Casino and situated right next door.

    My husband and I spent 1 night at Hotel Barriere for the Lille wine fair. The hotel staff at Hotel Barriere were extremely helpful and always courteous. They parked our car for us, showed us to our room, and explained the city map upon arrival. They also upgraded our room from Superior to Deluxe, which had plenty of room, was very clean, and we really liked the design. The breakfast the following morning was also more than expected for cheaper (18 eur) than a lot of hotel breakfasts that we have eaten in Europe. The hotel is extremely close to the Grand Palais (where the wine fair was held) and the train station. A bit more of a walk into the city center, but a nice walk and more than doable.

    Don't let the hotel's location put you off as access to Lille Europe station is a few minutes away on foot and you can get the metro in to town very easily which is quick, convenient and cheap. The area is redeveloping and will improve as time goes by. We particularly enjoyed the comfort and modern design of our lead in category room which felt airy, light and spacious. The ensuite shower room was also spacious and ultra modern but no style over substance here, it was just as practical as it was lovely to look at. I doubt that this sort of comfort and style can be equalled anywhere else in town, especially at the price. Our room was very very quiet we couldn't hear anyone inside or any passing traffic in this busy area. Well done Barriere Lille!

    The outlook from the hotel is not great but will get better as work continues. I am not a great fan of casinos but you don't need to to know it is there if you don't want to. Breakfast was a mild disappointment but I feel August is a tricky time for them as there was a national holiday when we were there so some things were in short supply but my chocolat chaude was chocolat froid for example!

    Positive was the very nice rooms, equipped with all comfort. Clean well maintained and apparently rather new. On the other hand this could be expected for a room at this price

    Disappointed about the location. It is rather at the outside of the city and there are no restaurants around. The station is close but that neighbourhood is in the evening and night absolutely not attractive. All restaurants around the station are poor quality and the atmosphere is a notch from gloomy and dangerous. We did not feel very safe around there The casino is depressing stay away from it Although Belgium is only 20 km distance, not 1 single tv channel in Dutch, so all Dutch speaking people stay away from this hotel And they charge 18 Eur per person for a breakfast, this really wy too much for something I would say is worth maximum 8-9 Eur per person (and I stay in hotels min 30 nights a year around the world)
